Grief Counseling

Loss can be overwhelming…

…and recovery seems terribly devastating, if not impossible. But with great compassion, participating in a group with others who have experienced a major loss offers a way through it.

Loss is a part of being alive…

In our world no one is immune from the experience.  One of the more challenging facts of loss is that having one major loss does not prevent you from having other losses.  Individual counseling and/or participation in a group with other people who have experienced a major loss will help you cope with present and future losses.

“You need to hear this: experiencing a terrible loss and the grief that goes with it is the most concrete proof there is that you are a normal, real, live human being.”

Bob Deits, Life After Loss

Consider this:

We live in a mortal, frail, imperfect world in which:

  • The word FAIR doesn’t apply.
  • Every marriage ends in one of two ways: DEATH or DIVORCE.
  • Life is a terminal condition.
  • Every career has an end.
  • Every relationship is temporary.
  • The ageing process is inevitable and so are the increased losses from it.

The good news is…
You can get through every major loss without being destroyed by it.  You can enjoy life to the fullest, knowing all the while that it has an end point.
